A family business, not a name on a door
Since 2012, PECKY has served Sarasota with design expertise alongside fine furniture, collectibles, and gifts & a family business built around reclaimed Pecky cypress and grown into a full-service design firm.
Patricia and Peter Estes founded the business out of a love of reclaimed Pecky cypress, and named it after the wood. Fourteen years in, we’re still finding new vendors, new pieces, and new ways to make a Sarasota home feel finished.
Most of our clients come back for a second project. Then a third — a new house, a house out of town, a room they finally have time to tackle. That kind of repeat business is the thing we’re proudest of, more than any single finished room, because it only happens when the first project actually goes well.
Two of our designers hold NCIDQ certification, which means code knowledge at a level most design studios don’t carry. On a ground-up build, that’s the difference between catching a problem on paper and catching it after the drywall is up.
We work with vendors we can stand behind, because they stand behind us. If a piece needs attention, we go back to the manufacturer on your behalf — see our brands and boutique for the lines we carry.
And because our boutique and Design Studio Annex are real rooms you can walk into, you’re never choosing furniture from a catalog alone. Sit in the chair, feel the fabric, then decide.
Refreshes, remodels, and ground-up builds across Sarasota, the keys, and beyond. We don't build the same room twice, and every project here started with a conversation rather than a template.
Our Team
Six designers, two NCIDQ certifications
One shared habit: starting from what a client actually wants instead of a house style we apply to every room.
Our designers each bring a different strength — full-home new construction, coastal remodels, custom upholstery, commercial work. Most clients are paired with one designer who stays with the project from the first walkthrough to the last accessory.
